About Satori Cellars

Satori Cellars gets its name from two sources;  Sandy, Tom & Riley who own the vineyard and manage the winery and from the Zen Buddhist term meaning “a taste of enlightenment” or “sudden unbidden moments of absolute stillness and peace in which time stops and the perfection and beauty of creation shine forth”.

Satori Cellars believes that great wine and great fruit are inseparable. We believe winemakers create better wines when they are intimately involved in the vineyard and the vineyard caretakers do a better job when they are intimately involved in the winemaking process. At Satori Cellars the same few people are immersed in all activities whether it’s planting, pruning, or picking grapes from our 15 acre vineyard or crushing, pressing, racking or bottling our wine in our brand new winery. We’re small enough to be able to enjoy this luxury.

The result is a truly handcrafted wine intended to awaken not only your taste buds but your experience of life, your connectedness to the world around you.Satori Vineyard

Satori Cellars features wines that are particularly well suited to the hot days and cool evenings of southern Santa Clara Valley, sandwiched between Silicon Valley and the Monterey Peninsula.  We have a special love for Zinfandel but also delight in making Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc.  All our wine is barrel-aged for at least one year using a combination of French and American oak.

All of our 2006 wines are now released as well as a 2007 Chardonnay from Monterey. The 2007 red wine releases and 2008 white wine releases are scheduled for mid to late summer through the end of 2009.

Our website, like our winery, will be developing rapidly over the next months so please stay in touch and thanks for visiting.
